What kind of GPS tracking device should i use for personal items?

I'm planning to buy myself a pair of over the ear headphones that will prove to be valuable and expensive. Are their companies making GPS tracking devices for small, but valuable, items like these? If so, which do you recommend and why? Give me the specs on the GPS you recommend, too. I'm looking to be frugal with purchasing a GPS device.
